APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee wins three NAPA Quality in Construction awards for 2023.

APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee is honored to announce that we were awarded three Quality in Construction (QIC) Awards for excellence in construction of asphalt pavement in 2023. The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) presented the awards during its 69th annual meeting in Orlando, FL on January 30, 2024.

“The asphalt pavement industry is committed to building high-quality projects that deliver superior performance to the traveling public. All contractors’ projects earning a Quality in Construction award are measured against best practices designed to live up to that commitment,” said 2023 NAPA Chair Christian Zimmermann. “Earning the Quality in Construction Award demonstrates that APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee has met or exceeded these rigorous standards.”

NAPA bestowed the three QIC awards in recognition of APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee mill and overlay work in Mississippi’s Covington, Jefferson and Alcorn counties. In all three projects, APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee incorporated into its asphalt mixes reclaimed asphalt pavement, a sustainable paving practice that conserves virgin materials and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

The award-winning Covington County project included the overlay of 9.6 miles of SR 35. After spot leveling parts of the road, APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee installed a 1.5-inch asphalt overlay, providing a smooth, high-quality ride for the traveling public.

APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee won another NAPA QIC award for its work in Jefferson County on SR 28 where crews overlaid existing pavement to create a smoother roadway with a greatly improved ride.

A mill and overlay project on 7.5 miles of US 72 in Alcorn County garnered a third 2023 NAPA QIC award for APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee. Because of lane closure restrictions, APAC crews worked at night to pave through numerous intersections and irregular areas within the city limits of Corinth, MS. The resulting high-quality asphalt pavement produced a 61% improvement in ride quality for Alcorn Country drivers.

Congratulations to our APAC-Mississippi/Tennessee team for demonstrating operational excellence and safety, and for successfully delivering innovative construction solutions and high-quality results for our valued clients on these projects.
